Carly Hynes is a Calgary-based artist with a BFA from the Alberta College of Art + Design where she majored in Fibre Art.

She works with an assortment of materials including yarn, thread, fabric, beads, precious stones and found objects.

With an interest in storytelling and the language embedded in textiles and found objects, she uses these materials alongside a variety of techniques to speak about her life and experiences.

Her art practice coincides with her meditation and spirituality practices. She is greatly inspired by her many years living and traveling in South East Asia, and she treasures the nurturing and mindfulness that goes into decorative handiwork.
